Testing & Certification

Air Conditioning

Having invested in air conditioning equipment the next step is to ensure that it is regularly and correctly serviced in order to comply with current regulations and ensure that it runs efficiently and effectively. Most commercial air conditioning systems come within the scope of the EU Fluorinated Gases (F gases) Regulations. These require that systems containing 3kg to 30kg of refrigerant be checked annually for leakage of F gases. Only certifed personnel, such as holders of City and Guilds 2078 qualifications, may carry out this work.

The guidelines, set out in the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations, require all air conditioning systems with rated outputs over 12kw to be inspected and certified every five years. Systems over 250kw must have completed all of their inspections by January 2009. For those between 12kw and 249kw it needs to be done by January 2011.

The systems that need inspecting are centralised systems, including CV, VAV, FCU's, induction units and chilled beams and also individual split systems, multi-split systems and distributed heat pump systems.

Fans

Whilst wall, window and ceiling fans are not currently subject to guidelines for cleaning and maintenance, failure to clean on a regular basis will reduce their efficiency and increase energy consumption, and in extreme cases present a fire risk by virtue of the accumulation of dust and debris around the fan fins, motors and inside the fan housing.

Nail Bar Station

International health and safety regulations state that an employer shall not expose staff to substances that are hazardous to their health, however the dust and fumes that arise when dealing with nail products can cause all sorts of potential medical conditions, such as nausea, headaches and occupational asthma.

Tha Aircare Europe Nail Bar Station reduces the risk of harmful dust and fumes, and has been tested and certified under health and safety regulations:
